Cherry Clafouti

Cooking with closed door  

Ingredients :

  • 500 g large cherries
  • 100 g sugar + 1 tablespoon after the baking
  • 3 eggs
  • 100 g flour
  • 30 cl full-cream milk
  • Butter for baking dish
  • A pinch of salt

Method :

  1. Wash cherries. Pit them or not , as you wish.
  2. Whisk sugar and eggs together, then add the flour and salt.
  3. Pour in the milk little by little, stirring constantly until smooth to obtain a paste like that of the pancakes.
  4. Butter a baking dish, scatter with cherries and pour batter over the cherries.
  5. Bake at 180°C for about 40 mn
  6. Remove from oven and dust the cake with powdered sugar.
  7. Let it cool before tasting.

Good to know: if you are lucky enough to have a garden, you can reuse the cooled ashes in your vegetable garden or at the foot of your rose bushes. Ashes are rich in elements that promote plant growth.
