Our certifications and seals of approval

To ensure the highest standards of quality and safety, our ovens are regularly inspected and certified by independent organizations.

The excellence of our artisanal manufacturing processes has also earned us the prestigious EPV (Living heritage company /Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant) designation.

Food Safety Certificates

A food-contact certificate guarantees that the materials used in a wood-fired oven are safe for contact with food and pose no health risks.

As such, the food contact safety of our chamotte fireclay mortar and our refractory bricks (red firebricks) used in the floor and vault of our ovens is periodically tested by an independent laboratory.

These food safety certificates, issued following the submission of samples, are valid for 5 years.

Here is an excerpt from the recent food safety certificates issued in September 2022 and January 2025 by the SGS laboratory in Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray FRANCE, a Cofrac-accredited laboratory specializing in the food industry.

Certigaz Certifications for Our Wood- and Gas-Fired Ovens

All of our wood- and gas-fired commercial pizza ovens are certified by Certigaz.

Certigaz, which is also accredited by Cofrac, issues this certification to us after verifying that each of our combi-oven models complies with EU Regulation 2016/426 on gas appliances.

To this end, Certigaz rigorously inspects systems and components related to gas use, as well as the quality of their installation.

These certificates are valid for 10 years, provided that we undergo unannounced inspections each year, either at our workshops in the Vosges or at the sites of customers who have recently installed our oven.

The Certigaz certification also authorizes us to affix the CE marking to our combined ovens, which is required to install and use a gas appliance in a professional kitchen within the European Union.

The Living Heritage Company designation

The “Living Heritage company i.e Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant” (EPV) designation recognizes the excellence of our craftsmanship, which requires precision, patience… and often several years of training. It honors the work carried out every day in our workshops and the meticulous care we devote to each of our ovens.

The EPV label, awarded by the government, is valid for 5 years. Four Grand-Mère, which received this label for the first time in 2020, saw its craftsmanship honored once again in October 2026 at a ceremony in Strasbourg—here are a few photos from the event!
