Grilled tomatoes

Ingredients for 4 persons

You'll need :

  • 4 nice big tomatoes
  • Olive oil
  • Salt pepper
  • Garlic, parsley, shallot
  • Breadcrumbs

Preparation: 15 mins

Equipment: a cast iron dish, baking paper

Cooking: about 15 minutes

Préparation :

The embers arranged in a crown, without flame.

  • Cut the tomatoes crosswise, arrange them in the dish.
  • Mix breadcrumbs with finely chopped parsley, garlic and shallot.
  • Salt, pepper.
  • Spread a good layer of breadcrumbs on each tomato half and pour a little olive oil on top.
  • Lay out a sheet of baking paper to protect the top of the dish and bake for a good 10 minutes.
  • Finish cooking after removing the protection.
  • Accompanies all grilled meats.

Good to know: if you are lucky enough to have a garden, you can reuse the cooled ashes in your vegetable garden or at the foot of your rose bushes. Ashes are rich in elements that promote plant growth.
